Sociocracy

What is sociocracy:

  • A social ideal that values equality and the rights of people to determine the conditions under which they live and work

  • An effective method of organizing associations, businesses, and governments, large and small.

How do we use it?

  • We use it whenever decisions need to be made.

  • To organise our tasks, roles and responsibilities.

  • We also use it a little selectively, going deeper into the process when needed while remaining flexible and using the principals over the processes for some questions as we feel it fits

Why do we use it?

We feel that Sociocracy as a toolkit helps us overcome some of the natural barriers to co-operations and working together that otherwise present challenges to small non hierarchical organisations.  We collectively reach better outcomes and faster (long term) than anything else we have tried.  It enables each and every member to have a voice and to be heard regarding decision that affect them and provides a fundamental understanding that no one operates alone in this community.  It provides our community with strength.
